To Lucky Edwin With Love Magnolia Card!

Howdy to all you Buckaroos,

**using "cowboy speak"**
Jist tether yer horse out front, come in, "n" set a spell! Have a cool glass a "sasperilly" with me. I was jist moseyin' in muh craft room thinkin' 'bout muh card for the nixt challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog which, this time, is Anything Goes! I reckon that's a purdy good idea for a challenge, right? The sky is the limit! Now, you have no excuses! There are as many ideas as varmints in the desert! LOL, LOL, LOL! I hope you'll loosen yer bootstraps "n" make a card or project as purdy as yer horse!

**out of "cowboy speak" **

I had so much fun making this card! It took me about four days, but I love the end result. I hope you do as well. Here is my Edwin, starring as the John Wayne of Magnolia! LOL

Isn't he just the cutest? I had the background in my stamp collection and thought it would be perfect with Lucky Edwin. I did do a little masking on his face. I wanted the card to be masculine yet not bare, so I added deep red, leather flowers inside and out, calico fabric, and some raffia. I also had some antique copper brads in my stash. I made the rope lasso and attached it to a tea stained, stamped tag. There are cowboy themed charms inside and out. I always finish the inside of my cards. The mountain peaks have been covered with Stickles so they sparkle. Here is another photo:

and another...

Also, inside, I have some chipboard strips that have been laser cut into the shape of barbed wire. It added a perfect rustic touch.

I hope you like my western themed card. Please leave a comment, if you wish, and your name will be entered into a drawing sponsored by Magnolia-licious!

North Pole Tilda Loving Snow

Greetings!

Hello Dear Readers,

Today, I would love to share with you another card I've recently completed. I fell in love with this adorable North Pole Tilda from the 2013 Winter Wonderland Collection. I got my stamp at Magnolia-licious. Diana is currently out of this particular stamp, but there are a few others in this collection that would also work well. You might want to try these:

Cozy Christmas Tilda,

In the Snow Heart Tilda,

In the Snow Scarf Tilda.

Diana does have these in stock. Be sure to check out the new Memory Box Dies that Magnolia-licious has in stock.

Here is my card:

I began by cutting the trees and inking the edges in one of my favorite colors, Antique Pewter. Next, I added Stickles to the branches and trunks in small segments just to add sparkle. Some of the trees have been elevated using foam strips.

The snow was made from torn strips which I ran through a texture roller. You can see some of the design on the left side by the flower cluster. There are three strips of snow. Each one is at a different elevation using pop dots and strips. I added the Stickles to the torn edges. A few fern branches were punched from green cardstock and tucked into the snow.

Tilda is also on pop dots as well. She's been colored with watercolors and then accentuated using Inktense pencils. I printed the sentiment on my computer and stamped around it using Magnolia Thought Bubbles. I also made the little snowman by piecing him together. His eyes are tiny black pearls while his arms are thin wires that have been twisted and splayed open at the ends to resemble fingers. The snowman is also on pop dots. There is a hidden tag on the front attached to the ribbon. The gorgeous papers are Pion.

I think that about covers it. The inside is also finished using additional Pion papers. I wish Pion was easier to get here in The States.

I would like to remind you that you have two chances to win a little somethin', somethin'. If you leave a comment below, I will pick a name which will be posted on January 28 when I post the next challenge. The winner will get a special thank you gift from me.

Also, if you leave a comment below AND on any other DT Member's post for this challenge, your name will go into a draw to receive a special gift from Diana. I know that Diana gives amazing gifts, so give it a go!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you will come back soon! I have more cards coming!

XO,

Chris

Ribbon Dancer Tilda Birthday Card

Greetings!

Hello Dear Readers,

I'm baaaaack!!!! I have been slacking on my blogging but not my card making. I've just been so busy with things at home that I haven't been able to set aside time to blog! Where to start - OK, we had to go car shopping. I finally gave up and left the choice to my sweet husband. In early December, a woman wasn't paying attention, ran a light and slammed right into our car totaling it. The Lord was with my husband as he didn't have a scratch! He was just shaken up as anyone would be. We were so blessed. Fortunately, we also have a Navigator SUV and were not without a car. Hubby wanted to put closure to the issue so we got a new car last week. I was sick for a week. Ever since I had pneumonia a little over a year ago, it seems that there is a little respiratory issue that keeps coming back like an unwanted guest! Breathing becomes hard, and the coughing is constant. I finally got cough medicine with codeine in it to suppress the cough. I keep Delsym cough drops at hand. That brand works very well for me. But, I still have managed to make some pretty cards which you will be seeing in the near future! It felt good to sit and create.

Today's card features Ribbon Dancer Tilda from the Moscow Collection. She's so cute! I got my stamp at Magnolia-licious. Diana is currently out of this particular stamp, but if you contact her, she'll let you know when they will be back in stock. I made it a very girly girl type card. The front sparkles both with the Frantage and Stickles I've added to her outfit. She has been watercolored and accentuated with both Derwent Inktense and Prismacolor Watercolor Pencils. Here she is:

There is a Doo-hickey heart tag in the upper right as well as a Doo-hickey tag tucked behind the raised image at center left. The inside panels are completely finished as well. I used Maja papers for this card. Here are the inside panels:

I hope you like my little girly girl creation. For some reason, I am really into pink!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I really love reading your comments and hope that you will share your thoughts with me. XOXO

I'll be back on Tuesday with my design for the new Magnolia-licious Challenge! Hope you will come back soon!

Love to you,

Chris
