Tilda in Evening Dress is Feelin' Flowery!

Happy Tuesday to you, Dearest Readers,

I hope this post finds you healthy and happy! Spring winds, here in the desert, are just stirring up my allergies! The other day, we had huge gusts of wind. As I sat at my craft table, looking out the window at the trees bending in the wind, there were waves of yellow pollen blowing across our yard from the pine trees in the back. It looked like the wind had turned a bright yellow! My nose is not very happy! **sniff, sniff** LOL

Today begins a new challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog! The challenge this time is

Feelin' Flowery!

I wanted to do something a bit differently than my usual. Tell me what you think. I hope you like it.

I wanted to make a more adult looking card. I chose the colors black and silver with a few touches of white. I had this older Edwin stamp in my collection. When Tilda in Evening Dress came out, I knew they would be a perfect pairing. I gave Tilda a dress of silver glittered cardstock. Edwin needed a mustache so that he looked old enough to be serving drinks! I wonder if I should have given Edwin a gray mustache instead of a black one. Hmmmmm...

There is a black mat behind the image mat and then a silver foil cardstock mat behind the black. You can't really see it in the photo.

I had a bit of fun with the Fran-tage, too. I have two kinds of white Fran-tage. One is just white and the other has gold flecks. Since my card has no gold, I had to think creatively. You may be able to detect bits of gray in the white melted Fran-tage. I applied the Fran-tage first. Then, I added silver embossing powder on the top. It was fun watching it melt into the white.

The paper behind the polka dotted paper is black with silver foil swirls embossed on it. I used it for the interior of the card as well. I added some silver metal elements. I thought the metal heart with the embossed flowers on it was a perfect match for the direction I was taking with my card.

I added a variety of silver flowers. The stamen cluster is silver metallic, and the calla lily is also silver metallic. The larger flowers are silver metallic looking, too. They have lovely crystal centers. I took my silver ink pad and carefully inked the edges of the white orchid in the lower right. Lastly, I added a beautiful silver metal trim. The trim's flowers are metal with a shiny cloisonne type center. That trim is just gorgeous IRL. Finally, I added glittery touches to the "sparkles" around Tilda as well as the champagne.

I hope you will remember to leave a comment on any of the DT gals' blogs as well as the Challenge Blog. For each comment, your name goes into a drawing for a weekly prize. The winner is announced each Wednesday on the Challenge Blog.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope you will join the Feelin' Flowery Challenge! It's so perfect for this time of year!

I hope you have a great week!

XO,

Chris
