Soccer Edwin Sends Birthday Wishes

Happy Tuesday to you, Dearest Readers,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Our son and future daughter-in-law are here for a Spring getaway! It's warm and dry here in the desert of Utah! They get to escape the clouds and rain of the Pacific Northwest for a bit! I so love having them here! Of course, it is just after four AM as I write this. One of our smoke detectors is beeping and has awakened hubby and me! Ugh! The one detector does it every Spring! It's the detector in our kitchen that just loves to start beeping in the middle of the night to let us know that the battery is low (Weird because it runs on electricity and has a battery, too). Here's the thing - it's about 17 - 20 feet up!!! My husband has to get the really big ladder, climb up to an architectural design ledge, walk across the ledge and reach up to change the battery! This is a chore he hates doing, and I so understand why! I don't know how he is going to be able to continue doing that battery exchange as he gets older! So, right now, I'm wondering how/if our "children" are sleeping through the periodic beeps!

Today begins a new challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog! The new challenge is

Cards for a Male

I made a very color one to share with you. Want to see it? Well, here it is:

I think it is a happy looking card with the bright colors. Think I used enough layers? LOL

The following supplies may be purchased at Magnolia-licious:

Soccer Edwin

Floral Background

Starlight Lace Border

My image was colored with Distress Inks and Inktense Pencils. I used some very bright papers and mounted them on black card stock for a nice dramatic effect. Next came some blue glittered card stock to add some festive sparkle to the design! Machine stitching, brads, and other elements complete the front and interior panels.

Remember that leaving a comment on any of the DT gals' blogs, as well as the Challenge Blog, places you in the draw to win a special surprise!

Oh, and I almost forgot - Magnolia-licious now has a Top 3 badge which is awarded to the top three in each challenge!

That's about it! Have a wonderful week and stay warm! I hope you will join in the challenge! We'd so love to see your creations! You might be the lucky winner! You can't win if you don't join in!

XO,

Chris

Tilda with Cozy Heart Sends Birthday Wishes

Helo Dearest Readers,

I hope you are having a wonderful Tuesday! Did you celebrate St. Patrick's Day yesterday? We had corned beef, cabbage, carrots, and potatoes for dinner. It was wonderful!

I have some exciting news to share with you! I have been invited to join the DT at the Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog! I was so surprised and am so lucky to be working with such a sweet group of artists!

This is my first inspiration card for the ASC Blog! The challenge this time is Buttons, Bows, and Bling! What a fun way to use some of those buttons you've been saving! I hope you will check out the Challenge Blog and see the lovely cards that DT "B" has created for you! Here is my card:

This card was fun to make! Here are the details. My Tilda is Tilda with Cozy Heart from the 2012 Sweet Crazy Love Collection. You can purchase her at Magnolia-licious. Diana does have her in stock and she does ship internationally! Tilda has been colored with Distress Inks. I used patterned paper for the heart that Tilda is holding. The paper I used for the mats on the card is Maja Design. I loved the gray as I wanted the card to be for a male. I've added a doily, gray crinkled seam binding, lots of pearls and punched flowers, a beautiful gray felt flower, two silver and pearl buttons from my stash, and a silver peel off Happy Birthday Sticker that is elevated using pop dots. The mat behind Tilda has been dry embossed using a heart embossing folder. There is also a hidden tag behind the mat. I cut the tag using the Romantic Tag Doohickey Die which you can find here. Matching the Romantic Tag is the matching Doohickey border. The inside of the card is also finished using the Maja papers, seam binding, etc. I hope you like it!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I would love a comment if you have the time. Please stop by the Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog and enter your card! This is Challenge #78 - Buttons, Bows, and Bling!

XO,

Chris

Meet Aquarius Tilda!

Happy St. Patty's Day to you, Dearest Readers,

If you are in an area that is still snowy, hang in there. It can't last much longer. It's a warm and windy day here in the Desert Southwest. Allergy season is here! Yuk!

I have a card to share with you today. It is so pretty! I surprised myself on this one! I used Aquarius Tilda which is my favorite stamp in the new Magnolia Zodiac Collection. You can purchase her at Magnolia-licious. I just love the design of this sweet stamp. For my card, I chose to use the blues and greens of water. Here is my card:

Don't ask me how I got the photo colors so nicely, I haven't a clue! I did exactly the same procedure that I always do! Go figure! Maybe my camera liked the card, too! LOL

Here are some details about the card and image. I chose to do some heat embossing on the image of our little Tilda. Her hair flowers have been embossed with pale yellow. On the water urn, I embossed the rim, line, and details in gold embossing powder. The water stream and puddle are done in crystal. Tilda has been colored using a combination of Inktense Pencils and Distress Inks. There is a gold heart charm in the upper left. Oh, and I took out my stash of vellum and put that to good use, too! The Magnolia doily as well as the frame around Tilda are double layers of vellum - white and pale blue - so that the color is visible. I've inked the edge of the mat in Celadon. A little lace (which I chose because it reminded me of waves), some pale blue rhinestones, cheesecloth, ribbon, and flowers finish the front of the card.

I really love how this card turned out!

If you are thinking about getting stamps from the Zodiac Collection, make sure you check out Magnolia-licious! Diana has the best prices AND you get store credit, too!

Chris

Tilda Hiding Rose Bouquet - CAS Card

Happy Tuesday to you, Dearest Readers,

Oh, it is a lovely Tuesday. It is a cloudy day with sun breaks here in the desert southwest. Our lawn is getting very green very quickly! All over the valley, the gorgeous pink and white blossoms of trees like the Flowering Plum are everywhere! The valley is just filled with these gorgeous trees! You can't turn your head without seeing at least one of these gorgeous trees. Spring is here!

Today begins a new challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog! Our challenge theme is

Clean and Simple

I have to tell you that this was NOT easy for me! LOL You know how I love to embellish! Here is my card using the sweetest Tilda from the Lost and Found Collection - Tilda Hiding Rose Bouquet!

Isn't she just the cutest Tilda? I did add a touch of glitter to the eyelet trim on Tilda's dress and apron She's been colored with Inktense Pencils and DIs. You have to know that although the front in CAS, you should see the interior panels! They are richly embellished with flowers and die cuts! I had to have my flowers! LOL

I hope you liked my card and will be inspired by one of the cards created for you by the Design Team.

Please leave a comment for me below. There is always a winner selected by Magnolia-licious who will win a wonderful prize from Diana! You can't win if you don't leave comments.

Well, That's about it for me! Thank you for stopping by. I hope that you will come back again! Please become a follower of my blog, if you aren't already. Also, you can follow me on Facebook under Chrissy Christensen! We can be f-r-i-e-n-d-s! LOL ((hugs to all))

I just love to make banners. I was really busy with this one. I went with a Spring flower theme with lots of full sized Magnolia images, each hand painted. There's sweet little ladybugs, pretty papers, and bright card stock and ribbons. I did add raindrops to the first "S" after I took the photo. I hope you like my Spring Banner. There are lots of photos, so be prepared! LOL Here is a photo of the whole banner:

I used Spellbinder's Grand Circle and Grand Scalloped Circle dies for the flowers and my Cricut for the alphas. I didn't want to overwhelm the banner with flowers, so I just used them as accents here and there. Each image has been painted with watercolors, Inktense Watercolor Pencils, Distress Inks, or a combination of the coloring products. Here are some additional photos:
