K2Where did you go, my sweet K2, when you left this earth? Did you cross Rainbow Bridge to wait for me? Will you see your sister? Did you have a good life? Did you know you were so loved? I will miss you so very much, my dear little one.
Today is such a very sad day. My heart aches more than one can imagine. Our sweet K2 has completed his cycle of life. He tried to last as long as he could, but stopped eating and drinking two days ago. He sequestered himself to the guest bedroom and was so weak that when he went to meow, his mouth would only open and shut. No sound came out. It was time. It is
ALWAYS a very difficult decision to put a "fur baby" down. He lived a very, very long time. There will be no more cat "operas" after the lights are out. K2 would go out to the kitchen area and yell at the top of his lungs because he liked to hear his voice echo off the tile. The high ceilings would give his caterwauling such a great sound. It was always a nightly ritual. The ritual ended a week ago. There will be no more tummy rubs. He loved his tummy rubbed before we turned off the lights. DH and I feel so badly. There is a huge hole in our hearts. I love you K2. You have been a sweet little boy. Thank you for coming to our home and being such a sweet, sweet little one.
Rainbow BridgeJust this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

This is so very, very hard. Thank you for staying with me this far.
Last weekend, there was a Blog Hop at Magnolia-licious. It was fun! The DT created amazing post-it holders with a matching bag. Then, we were given a challenge to create one of our own reflecting Spring. Well, I made mine right away. Then, with the situation involving K2, I totally forgot to upload it and link back to this blog. Here are my post it note holder with its matching bag.
I used Copic markers to color the images. The sweet, little bag is completely lined with matching patterned paper. All sides of the post it note holder are also finished. I have a ribbon secured under the back flap liners so that the note pad will slip under the ribbon to keep the pad securely in place. I just love red and yellow - well, I think I just love yellow with any color!
What do you think?
Thank you so very much for stopping by! Send some good thoughts our way, if you will. DH and I could use some uplifting right now. It's such a sad, sad day.
Love to you,
Chris
