Magnolia Downhill Tilda Sends Winter Wishes

Hello Dearest Readers,

I am so overwhelmed right now! So much to do with so little time! With DH's illness, it's all up to me, and I am only one person doing what two people normally do. It's so hard! I think one of the things that scares me is that if something happened to me (heart attack, stroke, etc.) he wouldn't be able to get help! I had that thought cross my mind today. I wish I hadn't thought of it!

On a brighter side, I have a card to share with you. You'll notice that my cards aren't elaborate as they usually are. I just haven't the time to spend on my work. I try to make them cute, though. I feel badly as I just WANT to spend time on my craft. I hope you like the card I made with Downhill Tilda from the Aspen Holidays collection. Here she is:

The card looks like it's lavender, but it's not. It's a VERY pale blue with white. The paper with the glittered edge is white, very shiny, and textured. I had very pale blue glitter which I adhered to the card stock using 1/8" score-pal tape. It gave such a nice even line. Next, using pale blue Bazzill card stock which was elevated using pop dots, I added my background paper and scene elements. That snowflake paper is my very favorite. I had some tiny die cut snowflakes which I centered with a pearl. It's not easy to see, but the trees, and lamp have been accented with Wink of Stella in iridescence. Tilda has been painted using DIs. She's also been elevated on pop dots.

I finished the inside panels as well. I always do my interiors because since I have the stuff already all over my craft table, I might as well finish the card then! LOL.

Magnolia Tilda "Joy" Christmas Card

Hello Dearest Readers,

It's a rainy day here in the desert southwest! Hopefully, the rain will stick around tonight so it will turn to snow! THAT WOULD BE A WONDERFUL CHRISTMAS GIFT! LOL!!

The kids will be here next week, and I'm just thrilled! I cannot wait to hug my granddaughter! I hope they will travel in safety.

I have a cute card to share with you today. It features a mini Tilda and pretty colors. Here it is:

My sweet friend, Jane, sent me the pretty white flowers. They were a perfect addition! The card has many layers. I used my Nesties to cut the two squares through both layers (snowflake paper and white card stock) at the same time. I thought the snowflake on the cord would make a fun substitute for an "O." I carefully cut Tilda so she could hang on to the paper cord on the die cut.

Here are shots of the interior panels:

Sorry the photos are so nasty, LOL! The angel on the top panel is something I had in my Christmas embellies. Again, the flowers are from Jane - LOVE YOU!!!

Magnolia Snow Angel Tilda

Hello Dearest Readers,

Ho, Ho, Ho! It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, LOL! I've been glued to the Christmas movies being shown over and over and over again on both Hallmark Channels as well as two other cable networks. Our favorite is called The Christmas Card. My husband just loves it! I bought him a DVD as a gift this year because he loves it so much. With his illness, it's hard to get into the festive mood, but I am trying - REALLY trying!

Today, I have a card to share with you. One night, just before sleep, my mind wandered to thinking of snow angels, and from that, the plan for this card was born. I hope you like it!

Cute? I love it! I have always loved vellum and thought it would be a perfect underlay for her dress layers. I think this Tilda is called Cute Little Tilda. Of course, she was chosen because her head was perfect for my plan. I used snowflake dies, pretty snowflake lace, glitter, paper from Silver Bells by Kaisercraft and Frosted Lace by Wild Rose Studio. When I first made Tilda's wings, I used white vellum which just got lost. So, using my Magnolia Angel Wing Dies, I switched to pale blue vellum and it looks so much better! I edged the paper with Sparklers pastel glitter (blue), added some flowers and snowflakes from my stash. Pearls, holiday peel offs, and bow complete the card's front.

Here is another angle:
