Tilda in Cozy Coat and Olaf Like Warm Hugs!

Happy February! Are you planning something special for your significant other or kiddies this Valentine's Day? What are you planning? I'd love to know! I have to get my Valentine card making done! I just can't seem to work fast enough! I have an idea for a card for DH, but by the time I get to making hubby's card, I'll probably forget the ideas! I did that with one card already. I HATE when that happens! I had the cutest card and sentiment in my head. I was not at my work station, so I didn't write it down. By the time I got back to my craft area, the idea had vanished and never returned again! That is so annoying. I've tried and tried to remember the idea I had, but the it never returned. *sniff* It was so cute, too!

Before I go any further, I just have to tell you that Magnolia-licious has some Magnolia Mini Stamps for as low as $1.99!And if that doesn't tempt you, the prices on the minis are ridiculous! Not only that, but there are NEW Memory Box Dies to tempt you! They are so gorgeous! You should check them out!

Today is Team B's turn to share some inspiration cards using a winter theme and Doohickey Dies. Please forgive me for yet another Frozen card, LOL. I had these ideas in my head for so long and wanted to get them in card form. I refused to give up until all three were done. You've previously seen my Elsa and Anna cards. Today, you will see my Olaf card. Here it is:

Isn't that a happy card? That little Olaf is the cutest. When I first saw Tilda in Cozy Coat, I KNEW what card she was going to enhance! Those open arms just scream, "Give me a hug!" LOL I used four Doohickey Dies on the front. They are:

A. Tilda Doily Die
B. Slender Firs
C. Snowy Forest
D. Spruce

The snowflake background card stock has embossed snowflakes. I added pearls to the centers of the snowflakes as well as on the trees and lace. I forgot to do Tilda's buttons! I drew Olaf, added some matching flowers and a rhinestone cabochon with Olaf's face in the center. I turned the lace upside down because I thought the arches looked like snow drifts while the daisies reminded me of snowflakes. There is glitter around the sentiment. Tilda has been elevated on pop dots. I also used silver metallic thread for the stitching. Here are the interior panels for my card:

I used the following dies on this panel:

A. Cozy Big Snowflake
B. So Wrapped Lovely Doohickey Tag
C. So Wrapped Snowflake Tag (for the snowflake on the bow)

I love that light periwinkle color! It is so perfect for a winter/snowflake card! Here is the bottom panel:

This panel is pretty straightforward. I used lots of layering as well as the silver metallic thread. The flowers match the front and I added one Doohickey Die element, and that is:

A. Doohickey Die Kit #2 - pine needle stem.

I sure hope you like my final Frozen card, LOL. Now, I don't have to try to remember what I was going to do with the trio of Frozen cards! I got all three done! It was so much fun seeing my thoughts evolve on paper. I so loved doing each one!

Magnolia Tilda Stars as Anna in Frozen!

Hello Dearest Readers,

How are you this Superbowl Sunday? The big game will be on soon. We're rooting for the Seattle Seahawks. My DH just loves this team, so we have to cheer them to a victory!

I am of Italian decent; however, I am working on improving my Vietnamese/Thai cooking skills! We love the food of both cultures. I decided to try cellophane noodles with Dungeness crab. My city is so small that we spent days trying to locate the noodles. Finally, we found them under the name of mung bean threads! Tah Dah! Success! I got to work right away soaking them. Next came cleaning and harvesting the meat from the crab. After cooking the dish, DH and I sat down and LOVED it! My husband is such a fussy eater! Since he's gotten sick, he's getting very hard to please. I was so glad he gave the recipe a chance. He said it was so good that he would eat it again! There is still another recipe I want to try soon. It's rice cakes, but they are made in an Ebelskivers pan. I have the pan and thought it would be a fun way to use it. I'll let you know how it turns out!

LAYERS

We would like you to use lots of layers on your card! Here is my inspiration card:

Isn't it pretty? For just the papers, I have five layers. By the time you get to Tilda there are seven layers all together! LOL I chose Tilda with Hood (Winter, 2008) because she reminded me of Anna in Frozen. The paper I used is so beautiful. It is called FROZEN. You can find the FROZEN PAPER HERE. The colors in these papers is a soft bluish green. It is so beautiful. I added tons of snowflakes, some pretty lace, matching color seam binding, oodles of rhinestones, a cabochon of Anna and a fun snowman charm that reminded me of Olaf.

On this panel, I've, once again, did tons of layering. I have stitched the card with silver metallic thread. I used my Frostyville circle die for the center and added some rhinestones here and there. Then, I added the ribbon and the charm of the reindeer because he reminded me of Sven. LOL The panel is finished with some sparkle on the tree.

Here, you can see the FROZEN text paper. If you look closely at the center bottom, you can even see the word "frozen." I repeated the layering, stitching, as well as the addition of winter elements found on the previous panels.

Sweet Bella with Flowers at Magnolia-licious!

Today is "W"ednesday, and I thought I'd share a Wild Rose Studio stamp entitled "Bella with Flowers." I really love these little Bella stamps! The images are just adorable. If you like the image, you can find it HERE. Here is my card:

I used my distress inks to color the image. The flowers do have a sparkle to them which is not visible in the photo. The rest is pretty much self-explanatory, LOL. Here is a shot from the side:

I like the look of the elevated image panel. OK, I like lots of things popped up! LOL

Love is in the Air with Sweet Christmas Tilda

Happy Tuesday to each of you! Are you keeping warm? I love Winter so much that I hate to see it pass. I love the blue, blue sky and the lighting the sun gives to the mountains. In the summer, the colors tend to get washed out!

Love is in the Air!

Isn't that a great challenge idea? You could do so much with it! I chose to stay with a Winter theme - after all, love does keep one warm, right? Here is my inspiration card:

I wish you could see the sparkle on this card! I used silver metallic thread for the stitching and shaved ice on the Magnolia Doohickey Snowy Forest tree die. My stamp is Sweet Christmas Tilda from 2011's Sweet Christmas Collection. The paper used comes from a paper pad entitled "Frozen." You can find this gorgeous paper HERE. Here are some additional shots:

The tag used in the pocket is the Magnolia So Wrapped Snowflake Doohickey Tag Die. I love that set of dies. They are so versatile!

The die cuts are part of the Memory Box Frostyville line. I added some Crystal Stickles to them for additional sparkle.

Princess Tilda as Elsa in Frozen!

We had a cold start to the New Year with a wonderful treat of snow on New Year's Eve. What a great way to end 2014! I hope that 2015 will be kind to my family.

Today begins a new challenge at the Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog! The new challenge is

Use a Tag!

I am anxious to share my card with you. I am really into finding different ways to use my Tilda images. For this card, I've chosen to go with the Frozen theme. Here it is:

Do you like it? I LOVE it! I wish you could see the sparkle. I've used silver thread for the stitching. The white rid-rack is also sparkly. Then, the Magnolia castle doohickey die cut has glitter as does the large snowflake behind the flower cluster. For my tag, I used a Magnolia doohickey tag die and just turned it upside down so the snowflake top didn't compete with Tilda. The little Elsa embellishment has rhinestones around it. The charm hanging from the flower cluster is a crown that says, "Princess." I used gesso on the tiny pine cones. The paper - oh, the paper - I wish you could see it in person. It is absolutely gorgeous! It is called "Frozen" and may be purchased HERE You wouldn't believe the beautiful details in the paper designs. The colors in the pad are soft and bold. They range from pastel to dark!

It's a Snowflake Challenge at Addicted to Stamps with It's Cold Outside Tilda!

Hello Dearest Readers,

Are you as busy as can be preparing for the upcoming holiday? I am trying to do all I can as quickly as I can! I seem to crash and burn about 10:00 PM! Then, I get up and become a "whirling dervish" all over again! And so it goes, day after day. I love this time of the year, though. I love the cold temperatures and the rain/snow that we get moreso in the winter.

Well, today is a new challenge at the Addicted to Stamps Challenge Blog! I hope you will join our new challenge. Our challenge theme is

Snowflakes

How fun is that? It's hard to think winter during the summer months, but those of us in the Northern Hemisphere are thinking, or even experiencing, snow! Here is my design which I hope will provide some inspiration!

All right, I'll say it - maybe I overdid the snowflakes! LOL. I just couldn't stop! LOL! For my card, I used Magnolia's It's Cold Outside Tilda. I added some mulberry paper "fur" around Tilda's cuffs and collar. The background stamp is one I've had for years and years. I thought it would make a perfect scene for my first frame card. I added lots of die cuts rich with snowflakes as well as clear rhinestones, snow-tex, and a snowflake charm. The cluster in the lower right features sparkly white jingle bells along with real pine cones, flowers, and a sparkly ribbon. Here are some closeups.

The inside has been finished to match the front. It took some courage to do a card in a teal color rather than the traditional Christmas colors. Sometimes, it's good to take chances.

Magnolia See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and Speak No Evil Edwins @ Christmas!

Happy Tuesday to each of you! I hope this post finds each of you well and happy! Things are busy here with the preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday which is just "two sleeps" away! LOL We have our exterior Christmas lights up and ready to brighten the night starting Thanksgiving night. I love, love, love this time of year! The tree is almost all decorated. We have a little more to put on. Again, Thanksgiving night is the night we start lighting our Christmas Tree. It makes me so happy to see the pretty tree and the lights!

Today begins a new challenge at the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog! Our challenge is a really good one -

Anything Goes!

That has to be my favorite type of challenge! I am just soooooooooo excited to share my card with you! This card just makes me smile each time I look at it! I cannot hold back any longer. Here it is:

Oh, I had zo much fun planning and executing this card design! I love those little Edwin stamps. They are the Blue Ribbon Edwin Trio available HERE! Magnolia created these as a way to support Breast Cancer Awareness. I just knew they would be perfect for a Christmas card! Did the card make you smile? I hope so!

Here are some additional photos:

I wanted to keep the card festive and with a boy in mind. Rather than add lace and flowers, I chose to add thick red rick-rack. I added little white show flakes and centered each snow flake with a matching green or red rhinestone. The paper that has the packages on it, has a red foil element on the packages. I repeated that red foil by using red foiled card stock as a mat behind the green papers. I added some decorative buttons that had sparkle on some.

On the interior top, I wanted the emphasis to be on the pretty paper with the red foil accents. A die cut doily, pretty ribbon, and cute little charm added to the festive feel. For the interior bottom, I repeated the red rick-rack. This time, I added a little silver jingle bell. I also added the Magnolia Rocking Horse Doohickey Die from the Doohickey Set Volume 2. I would have added more die cuts from the set, but they were too large for the small areas. A bit of red twine completed the horse.

Those See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and Speak No Evil stamps are so versatile! You could use them for Christmas, Valentine's Day, or even Mother's Day or Father's Day! My mind was swimming with possibilities, but since it's the Christmas season, I decided to use them with that theme. You might want to think about getting this trio. They come in a set of three. Diana has them reasonably priced at $29.99 with is approximately $10 per stamp! THAT is a steal, my friends!
